Let’s talk Fifty Shades of Grey….

First let’s be honest with ourselves, you all clicked to read this post because your curiosity got the best of you…Ha-ha! No, I have not read the hot and steamy piece of literature that is all the rage this summer, but I have heard all about the book.

Now let’s talk about our version of Fifty Shades of Grey. This past week at work we were not really sure what to do with our time. I know what you all are thinking… do some work…Well our daycare did not show up that day so we had some time to kill. So this is what we decided to do…..

Our version of Fifty Shades of Grey….

Dear Damon

Today marks our ONE year anniversary!! I thought what a better way to shout it to the WORLD (or at least my little blog world) how much I love my husband than write a letter to Damon as today’s post.

Dear Damon,

As I sit down to write this letter I think back over the past year of all the memories that we have made and shared right by each other’s side. I look at you and wonder how you are mine. Thank you for choosing me! I cannot give enough thanks to God for bringing us together. Without God’s hand at work, I wouldn’t have had the chance to experience what an amazing husband you are.

I could never express how grateful I am for all the wonderful things that you do for me. You know how to make me laugh when I am in one of those moods, you know how to make the bed perfectly, take care of me when I am nasty sick, the silly stories you tell me that are not true, you tell me I am beautiful when I feel horrible, all the small surprises you bring home and the all the driving you do at night because I cannot see. But most of all, when you hold my hand in the car, finding each other’s feet at the end of the bed and even making our kissing noises when we are in front of people and cannot make out.

I want to tell you how proud of you I am for going after your dreams. One day when our schedules are the same we will not know what hit us.  Thank you for making all the sacrifices that you make for our life together.  I pray each day asking God to give you the strength to keep moving along to achieve your goals.

Over the past year you have given me so much joy and laughter. I cannot wait to see what the years to come have in store for us. I cannot wait to grow deeper in love with you through the years. I cannot wait to see what we are like in 10, 20 or even 50 years from now.

In the next year of marriage my promise is to love you more because you are the special person God created for me.  I promise to love you more simply because you are worthy to be loved. I promise to love you because I choose to and I promise to love you more for no other reason other than that you are my husband.

I love you more…

Sunday Social

It is Sunday and you know what that means, Sunday Social with Neely and Ashley. If you have not already linked up with Sunday Social you are missing out…

It feels great to be back into the blogging world. I have been down with a bad stomach virus for the last couple of days.

1. What is your dream job?

My dream job would be to become a successful event planner.

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time?

I would travel a lot! When I was not traveling I would spend the rest of my time volunteering with different nonprofits organizations.

3. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was growing up all I wanted to be was a teacher. I followed that dream and now I am just looking for a job.

4. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?

The one piece of advice I would give to anyone going in the education field would be do not major in Early Childhood alone. Get a minor in anything else like Special Ed or History.  I only give this advice to set you apart from other people competing for the same position.

5. Biggest Pet Peeves either in life or in blogging or at work

The only pet peeve that I can think of at the moment is when I am washing dishes and someone throws a drink in the sink or tries to wash their hands.

6. Biggest Fears

Not really sure what my biggest fears are, but I am a big hypochondriac. I always think there is something wrong with me. Right now I will rarely eat pork because I am freaked out about getting a worm in my brain. I know I am a little crazy!

Things I LOVE Thursday….

Today is Thursday and that means things I LOVE Thursday! I have been racking my brain to find things that I have just fallen in LOVE this week. I finally decided that this week’s Things I LOVE Thursday would consist of things that you can get absolutely FREE!

Sleeping in a bed with fresh sheets

After you spend ten minutes wrestling with the elastic form fitting bottom sheet, tucking the top sheet tightly into the mattress, trying to find pillow cases that match and then squeezing and shaking your pillows in the cases…… You can finally dive right into the fresh laundry smelling sheets. Something about crawling into a bed with fresh sheets makes you feel awesome!

Earth

How amazing that God gave us humans the chance to live on his wonderful creation!

Getting caught in the rain and you just don’t care

When the sky splits and the clouds crack everyone scurries for cover; But every once in a while, don’t run for cover. That is what makes it great! When rain starts pouring and you just stop caring altogether. That moment when soaked shoes, rain hair and being chilled to the bone mean nothing. As you stand in the rain twirling in your beautifully wet moment of Awesome

Take some time to stop and enjoy the small and simple things in life!

Bachelorette Finale

Wow what a night! Tonight was the season finale of the Bachelorette with Emily Maynard.

Tonight was the night that Jef and Arie met Emily’s parents and had their final date together. After Emily’s family met both guys they were very confused on which guy that Emily should choose as well as Emily.

Emily went on her final date with Jef, which was very sweet. Before the end of the causal part of the date Emily decided to let Jef meet little Ricki. When Emily introduced Jef to Ricki it went so well. They seemed to really hit it off together. The more formal part of the date went just as well as the first part of the date. While watching the formal date Emily was playing with her hair and was acting very flirty with Jef, which was a good sign.

Little did we know that Emily would not go on her last date with Arie. Emily sent Arie home without even going on a complete date with him. Earlier in the show Emily spoke with Chris (the host) and decided that it would not be fair for her to go on a date with Arie and not be totally present on the date. So Emily met with Arie and sent him home.

Then came the proposal ….Jef came out still not knowing that Arie had been sent home. Emily and Jef spoke to each other so kind and loving to each other. The whole proposal was so romantic. Of course Emily said YES

How about at the end when Emily and Jef was getting ready to leave and Ricki came running out…HOW CUTE! I am really happy for both Emily and Jef and hope that everything works out just the way they want. May all their dreams come true together!

And that my friends, is a recap of the Bachelorette Finale!

Interesting combo, aye? I started my blog as a way of keeping track of the recipes I throw together in my kitchen...because sometimes they're kinda fabulous [toot-toot, that was my own horn].
